(Some time between Star Wars Rebels episodes 1.12 and 1.13: Vision of Hope and Call to Action.)

Ahsoka sits in the cockpit of her current light freighter, hanging in space between systems; comm and scans set to passive to allow warning if another ship comes close and not to give her position away. She thought of Gall Tryvis and the cost his betrayal had to the blossoming rebellion. His being an Imperial agent made a lot of sense, and went a long way to explain how difficult a time intelligence has been to come by as of late.

Sighing, she fought to keep hope. The rebellion was barely that, a loose confederation of parties that disagreed more often than not. And this betrayal of so high ranking a person, one many had taken hope and faith from, would be costly. They would be hard pressed to trust after this and Ahsoka just hoped that they didn't turn on each other, finding double agents where none were; tearing the rebellion apart internally and doing the Empire's work for them.

Sighing again, she closed her eyes and opened herself to the Force, hoping for some sign of something to believe in. She wished she had Anakin to talk to, or Rex. Faces from her past danced in her mind's eye and with a slow exhalation, she pushed them aside reaching for the serenity and the Force. What she found instead was the subtle song of healing and freedom her kyber crystals sang, and oddly it was enough for her.

She'd survived so much, recovered her purpose despite overwhelming events. She would not give up now. She would reach out to her cells, check in and encourage where needed. She would be the light to carry them in this darkness.
